Frequently Asked Questions

Select a topic category or scroll down to the page to find your question.

The application form does not look right on my screen (overlapping drop down boxes, long rows over the input fields, etc.) What is going on?
First, you should let the ENTIRE form load BEFORE you scroll. It is a big form.

In short, your computer does not have enough memory (RAM) available to render the form correctly. Here is the solution that will work in most cases:

1. Clear the cache (temporary files) in Internet Explorer (Usually Tools>Internet Options>Remove Temporary files
2. Shut down Internet Explorer
3. Restart the computer
4. Open JUST MS Internet Explorer.
5. Go to Web site, fill out form.

In most cases, this will solve the problem....
As a player, can I play on more than one team?
Players are welcome to play on more than 1 team provided that the player does not play in the same gender or age bracket.

Example: A player that is age eligible to play on a U10
team may play in that division as well as any division older than U10. A girl playing on a boy’s team can also play on a girls team. A man that is playing in the Men's Open division can also play in the Adult Coed bracket.

Special Note: Schedule requests will not be taken into
consideration to accommodate any individual player choosing to participate on more than one team.
Do we need our “Club/Professional” Coach?
No, some teams do have their club coaches in these types of events, but many do not, a parent in this environment will be just fine.
How many player's per team?
The 5v5 format is 4 field players and 1 goalie. Columbus Sand Soccer recommends teams of 7-10
If you have one club team and would like to split the team to make two CSS teams, what do you do in the registration process?
In order to register two teams for the tournament you will need to create a different user name and password for each team. All we need in the system for both teams is the team name, age, gender, a contacts information and method of payment.

Our registration system will only accept teams if their name is slightly different. We welcome club teams to form two CSS teams for our events. Our recommendation is to name the two teams based on their jersey colors.

Example: Beach Boys U10 (White), Beach Boys U10 (Blue).
What age division should we register our team for?
- When registering, use your oldest player's date of birth; register the entire team in the age division that your oldest player is eligible to participate in.

- No players are allowed to play in an age group that is younger than their date of birth.

- Girls are allowed to play in Boys brackets.

-Any player is allowed to play up in age.

- Player's should play in age group played in Spring 2017 (NOT AGE GROUP THEY WILL PLAY IN FALL 2017)

- Use US Soccer matrix to determine team's age group based on oldest player on the team by birth year.
What are the dimensions of the playing area and goals?
Our “fields” are between 25 yards wide by 30 yards long. Goals are 6 feet high by 18 feet wide. These numbers are applicable to all ages and genders.
What do the players wear on their feet?
Players can play barefoot, wear regular athletic socks, tape their feet, or wear beach/sand specific socks.
When do we turn in our registration form?
All registrations will be completed online. Payment in full must be received via credit card or mailed check to be accepted into the tournament.

Team waivers and rosters are turned in at the tournament before your team's first game.

Please follow all instructions on our registration form and complete all fields.
Where can I find age group breakdown by birth year?
Use 2016-17 Column:

Adult Divisions are for players U19 and Older.
